Unreal Portraits

An ongoing personal project exploring my love of photography and the line between the realistic and the uncanny. This was built in Unreal 4, using 3D Scans of real humans and UE’s new Metahuman pipeline.

Both were made for real-time, but rendered via path-tracing to allow for a more traditional 3D pipeline, i.e., sending it to Nuke for compositing to add that little spice.

- Onsite Integration

During the pandemic Agressive, World stage, TIgre Lab and QuietDog collaborated on building a realtime Virtual Production stage. Using Cinema 4D and Notch, we created a real-time scene that could control a variety of parameters within the scene and allowed for integration with the lighting and camera teams. Essentially a full TV broadcast with the CG being the set on which we filmed.

This allowed us to explore a variety of looks and ideas iteratively and quickly. Quietdog assisted in the production onsite. Making the necessary edits and connections with the media team to get the show ready.

Twitch Rivals - Onsite Team / 3d Artist

Using a variety of 3D tools we brought Twitch.TVs Glitch Con into the virual world. Working alongside Silent Partners Studio and Toy Robot Media. QuietDog handled both the 3D Asset creation and the onsite pipeline required for the broadcast. Handling the necessary components and controls to enable other teams to pipe their content and sequence the 11-hour livestream.

ON STAR Campaign
- Compositor

Working with Impossible Objects, we spent the better part of a year building a series of commercials showcasing OnStar. Using their in-house LED volume, we were able to create several car process shots. Once filming wrapped, I took their 3D UE data to build set extensions and clean plates.
I also built all their fake UI’s and composited their holograms to match each shot.
